Carolyn McTush left the high powered, glamorous world of corporate cosmetics marketing and sales eight years ago after a whirlwind romance and marriage to an old fashioned guy who insisted on seeing his wife every day.

That meant she had to leave her job, which required a lot of travel. After 16 years in retail marketing, she was glad to take a break from her high pressure career.

A career woman at heart, however, McTush decided that she wanted to work from her home in Atlanta, Georgia and continue to use her marketing and sales skills. It didn’t take her long to figure out that becoming an Internet marketer and network marketer was the perfect way for her to meet her needs for excitement and achievement and her husband’s needs for companionship and good home cooking.

In the book "The New Professionals-The Rise of Networking Marketing as the Next Major Profession," Charles W. King and James W. Robinson state that "network marketing is now attracting an unprecedented number of professionals from many fields who have earned stature, respect, and success in those fields and are bringing these qualities to the industry. They are rapidly changing the culture of network marketing." (Chapter 1; p. 6).

McTush is one of those new professionals they are talking about. She has brought a very polished, sophisticated and professional approach to marketing into the Internet home-business arena. McTush says that "A lot of this is really just second nature for me. I love marketing and I’ve spent more than 20 years doing it. Plus, I had to learn to do marketing and sales well. You can’t survive, far less be successful, in corporate marketing and sales unless you meet your quotas and move your product and are very good at what you do."

Naturally, making the transition from offline corporate marketing to online marketing did require some adjustments.. McTush reports that she "found out the hard way that the response rates were very different for online and offline marketing campaigns. Internet marketing is more of a numbers game. You might have to contact 20,000 people in order to get responses from 1000 of them. That’s a 5% response rate, and that’s with a really good ad and good planning and strategy. With offline promotions, I was accustomed to much higher rates of response, up to 50%."

Since becoming a full-time home-based Internet marketer five years ago, McTush has specialized in high quality, low cost search engine optimization, splash page design and production, creative and very successful marketing campaigns that include online and offline promotional strategies, and helping clients generate income from ads placed on their websites and splash pages. Her consulting service, Prosperity Graphics, provides clients with a wide range of services that enable them to present a professional face to the cyber-marketplace and get the tools they need to achieve prosperity and success.

Carolyn McTush stresses that "quality is key. I take pride in producing very high quality splash pages tied to autoresponder follow-up campaigns and giving my clients a lot of information and personal assistance for a very reasonable cost.

"Even experienced Internet marketers often don’t have the skills--or desire or time--to build their own websites and splash pages, do search engine optimization, do statistical analysis and tracking of their marketing campaigns, set up income-generating ads on their websites and splash pages, design well thought out short-term and long-term marketing campaigns, or generate lots of double opt-in leads.

"Many new ‘netpreneurs’ get very confused and frustrated when they realize that they need to learn--or hire-- marketing skills that will allow them to compete effectively in what has become a very competitive marketplace. Although thousands of ‘wannabe’ Internet marketers are flooding into cyberspace every day, only a few of them have the skills, attitudes, grit and self-discipline necessary to eventually make a living doing that. Everybody’s in a big rush to dump their day job and make bucketloads of money on the Internet, but it’s not nearly as quick and easy as they think it will be or have been told it will be"

McTush believes that "the marketing gap is going to widen between big business and small businesses. Big businesses are now seeing and using the power of the Internet much more aggressively and in a much more precise and calculated way. I think that in the future, Internet marketing is going to become so powerful that it will be as effective as TV commercials are right now. More and more people are turning to the Internet for business, research, education, social activities, shopping and entertainment. It has become a very interactive and offers many resources that can be accessed quickly. Television mainly provides entertainment and some education."

Given McTush’s mastery of offline and Internet marketing, and the growing influence and importance of the Internet in the global marketplace, her future as a 21st century business leader, teacher, and marketer looks bright. Admired by many of her "netbiz" associates for her professionalism and sincere desire to help others, McTush admits that she "can’t imagine a more wonderful career or lifestyle" than she has already achieved.
